U.S. Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim is only 17-years-old but has already landed her first Sports Illustrated magazine cover. The Orange County native made history last week in Pyeongchang for winning the gold medal in the halfpipe competition, making her the youngest woman to ever win Olympic gold in snowboarding. "I just say, 'Never give up. I feel like dreams are always a little tricky, you know. But if you just push through the struggles and the hard times, it'll be so worth it in the end, because you will be able to get to your dreams." -@chloekimsnow
17-year-old Chloe Kim recently won the gold medal in the women's snowboarding halfpipe event at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics. But, her journey to the Olympics has been years in the making. At 5, Kim learned how to snowboard and at 14 she became the youngest Winter X Games gold medalist. Her determination and dedication to being an athlete inspires us to keep chasing our dreams and breaking a sweat.

Well, I just had to make one! Couldn't resist- plus it was a chance to practice my newly learned skill: knitting. Pattern is "inspired by Chloe Kim's gold medal win." Decided to make mine in a fun color.
Pattern: Olympic Inspiration by @knitandpaperandscissors It's a free download on Ravelry!
Yarn: @lionbrandyarn#hometownusa in Miami Seafoam. Takes 2 skeins.
This, my friends, is a sneak peek into what a sweet custom order looks like. Not sure what it's called yet, maybe the #chloekim, or the snowboarder beanie (totally open to suggestions!). Either way, it's pretty great and is inspired by all you crazies that love winter!
Mirai Nagasu became the first American woman to ever land a triple axel in the Olympics! ⛸ She is also only one of three women to have done it. 🏅 What a proud moment for everyone who trains tirelessly for landmark wins. “Guys, what a day. These are the moments we work for,” Nagasu shared. (Quote: TeamUSA.org / Roberto Schmidt/Getty Images) #MiraiNagasu#Herstory + Update: Congratulations to #ChloeKim for winning the halfpipe gold medal! ❄️🏅
