Went out for a breath of fresh air and a bit of impressive pretty. Wales does a good line in both. Slightly disappointed in the lack of effort required for this. Finding a waterfall should be moderately intrepid. I feel I should have to walk for a minimum of 15-20 minutes to earn a view like this, not rock up in the car, park up and be able to see it while eating a bowl of chips at the cafe. I’d like to go back when the trees are in leaf but it was busy enough today... I suspect the single track road will be absolute carnage in the summer.
Sometimes you’ve just got to go. Don’t overthink it. Don’t over-plan it. Just go. Get the whir of tarmac between your wheels, and begin pedalling into the sunset 🌅 🙌🏻🚴🏼♀️
Earlier today I sent a first draft of a book about a very long bike ride through all 50 states of the USA to my wonderful editor. 🤓 📚 Being my second book, the first draft was fraught with the usual barrage of self doubt, featuring such thoughts as ‘This is crap’, ‘No one will read this’ and ‘You are writing like a 5 year old, Anna’ - plus an added bonus appearance from “You do know this book will never do as well as the last one, don’t you?” But onwards I ploughed, shoving the voices aside every time they tried to sway me from the path of righteous writing, and it is done. And I feel elated! 🤘🏻🤸🏼♂️💫
So I celebrated by loading up @komoot, hopping on my bike and riding to Wales 🏴 to sleep on a hill. I rode for 50 miles and now find myself on the outskirts of the Brecon Beacons. Hanging out in my smelly lycra in a pub by the fire until bedtime comes around 🤗🍷
Although... I have accidentally stumbled upon a pub with THE swankiest menu. They don’t even capitalise the first letter of each dish, that’s how swanky it is. I was given an ‘appetiser ball’ to go with my glass of pre-dinner wine 🤷🏼♀️the contents of which took the nice waitress lady three full minutes to explain. All that in one ball, I thought. WOW. To top it off, they are all speaking French and being very lovely and calling me ‘madam’ 🙋🏼♀️
Naturally I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu, plus a side of green beans - just so they didn’t think I was being tight and ordering the cheapest thing on the menu (which I was).
And the other option for today was staying at home?! Bring on hiking up a hill with a full belly and settling in for a sunrise! 👊🏻🤸🏼♂️💕🙏🏻🏕

A fantastic day had on the coastal path. Just under 24 miles of running through some of the deepest mud I’ve ever seen. The training is going well. Hard work but will be worth it. Now settling down to watch the sunset and a glass of Whisky 🥃
I’m really looking forward to getting out on the coast this coming Wednesday, I may even manage some new ‘local’ pics to share!? 🤔 For now though, here’s another from #mywelshroadtrip
This particular day started with severe gale force winds and torrential rain.... As it was forecast to clear from the west by mid afternoon, I headed to #anglesey which is about as far west as you can get in #northwales My favourite stop was here at #ynysllanddwyn it was still wet and windy, in fact I had a hard job holding my tripod down 💨📷😳 This was the one useable shot I managed in an hour battling the conditions! 😅 #Wales

Can it be summer now!? I cannot wait for camping, mountain climbs, road trips, kayaking, BBQ's and late summer nights 😁
