This was maybe the first "show" I'd ever played, 5 years ago at Boom City, after opening night of a collaborative art show in an abandoned building in Atlanta. I had my own sound art installation there on display and I was half proud and also half feeling like I was undeserving of the opportunity. Surrounded by the intimidating work of the beautiful eccentric, talented, REAL artists that I'd worked alongside the weeks before, I don't think I really understood why everyone would work so hard or spend so much money to make things that aren't meant to sell. It intimidated me to no end, feeling like I just didn't get it and that this was just another group that I didn't belong to. Thankfully, in the end, someone asked me to play a song. Sitting in a circle, playing my stupid little tunes for real artists was the scariest thing I've ever done. I'm sure one song was about pizza and the other probably about a duck in love or something but the fact that people that I respected in the arts wanted to hear my music, changed my life forever. Thanks for helping me get it @dashboard_us.@courthammo@bam_pow@firstname.lastname@example.org and others I don't know the handles for. Here's to many more years of scaring myself shitless in front of people I respect. Love you guys.

It's a noun and it's a verb but in the end it's just a word. NY shows coming up!
As long as I'm alive, we'll never say goodnight. I wake up every morning just to carry your light.
Happy birthday momma Hammond. So proud to be your son.

Carl Sagan wrote this in 1995. He would die a year later. The world could use a mind like his again: "I don't know to what extent ignorance of science and mathematics contributed to the decline of ancient Athens, but I know that the consequences of scientific illiteracy are far more dangerous in our time than in any that has come before. It's perilous and foolhardy for the average citizen to remain ignorant about global warming, say, or ozone depletion, air pollution, toxic and radioactive wastes, acid rain, topsoil erosion, tropical deforestation, exponential population growth. Jobs and wages depend on science and technology. If our nation can't manufacture, at high quality and low price, products people want to buy, then industries will continue to drift away and transfer a little more prosperity to other parts of the world. Consider the social ramifications of fission and fusion power, supercomputers, data 'highways', abortion, radon, massive reductions in strategic weapons, addiction, government eavesdropping on the lives of its citizens, highresolution TV, airline and airport safety, foetal tissue transplants, health costs, food additives, drugs to ameliorate mania or depression or schizophrenia, animal rights, superconductivity, morningafter pills, alleged hereditary antisocial predispositions, space stations, going to Mars, finding cures for AIDS and cancer"
