Video shows emergency vehicles responding to the van attack in Barcelona, Spain. A van has plowed into a crowd of people in #Barcelona, causing several injuries, local police say. The incident took place near the popular tourist area of Las Ramblas, which has been sealed off, according to a Catalan police spokesman.
A devastating mudslide on the outskirts of Sierra Leone's capital has claimed more than 330 lives.
Heavy rain, normally a blessing at this time of year in West Africa, turned into a nightmare on Monday when flooding caused torrents of mud to wash down Mount Sugar Loaf about five miles outside the capital Freetown, according to government officials and aid agencies.
On Wednesday, US and Japanese troops held joint contingency drills in Hokkaido, Japan. CNN’s @kyunglahcnn reports the two countries have been conducting a number of these exercises for years and this is not in response to threats from North Korea.
